| NOAF
has been involved in sexual health promotion for over two
years. Based on its extensive understanding of the cultural
and social dynamics within our Communities. |
In early 2007, NOAF observed that our community were grossly under– utilising the mainstream HIV prevention services. |
This is due to cultural constraint, the stigma associated with HIV and insufficient knowledge and
understanding of HIV/AIDS. |
NOAF
decided to deliver its ground-breaking prevention intervention whereby free condoms will be distributed to the
community. |
| This community based approach reflects the emerging trend in tackling the HIV
problem by our organisation. The aim of this project is to increase condom use
among Nigerians who have never used condom before. |
NOAF produced a package which carries an African theme, small enough to offer
discretion for users taking it and convey basic information on HIV/AIDS and the
importance of using condoms to fight against HIV. |
The pack contains four condoms , the brand being
condom and pasante with instructions on how to use condom inside each pack. |
